Brush Square

City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department
Austin, Texas

A forgotten downtown square has a new future as a park and front door of the city.

A vision planning effort for one of Austin’s four original squares leads to the phase one revitalization of an underused downtown park. The new square will host event and respite spaces, improve accessibility, and add native plantings and interpretive historic and educational elements. The project began construction in May 2022 and is seeking SITES certification.

Work completed at Asakura Robinson. Brendan Wittstruck was the project manager from concept design through construction observation while employed at Asakura Robinson.
