Infrastructure becomes destination as the revitalization of an intake building connects the lake and the city.

This finalist competition entry for the adaptive reuse of an Art Moderne water intake facility envisions new social life at the lakefront, inviting visitors to swim in the lake, host special events, and tour immersive indoor and outdoor art galleries. The design “links” the city and water edge with a grand outdoor stairwell and served as an inspiration for the Seaholm Waterfront Plan.
